Balikbayan box shipping rates increases this month due to the soaring cost of services. Container shipping cost has increased twice in a matter of few weeks to almost double the original cost a few years ago.

Gasoline prices are expected to reach a record high of five dollars per gallon.

The strengthening Philippine Peso against the US Dollars also added burden to the cost of clearing and distribution.

To maintain the quality of service Manila Forwarder is known for, The Company will have a five dollar general rate increase effective this June 1, 2008. All existing promotion like suki card, dealership coupon, free shipping, among others continues.

The general rate increase is all over USA including internet based clients.

In celebration of its 10th year of service to the community, Manila Forwarder also offers a new box design for balikbayan box and Jumbo Box. The modern and more durable balikbayan box design will be available to various Pilipino Stores for their balikbayan needs for air travel as well as for air and ocean shipping.

Jumbo Box remains one third bigger than regular balikbayan boxes and intended for shipping only. It exceeds airline check-in baggage specifications.
